This build enhances its healing capabilities with Shadow Theft, while also having access to a powerful Splinter Weapon.

Variants

Replace Splinter Weapon with Spirit Transfer Spirit Transfer if you lack martial party members, or if more healing is desired. Lower Channeling Magic to 8, raise Restoration Magic to 12.

Consider replacing other skills in the following situations:

  • Protective Was Kaolai – for party size 4 and 6.
  • Life – in a team with other spirits.
  • Spirit Siphon – with a Blood is Power user.

  • Great Dwarf Armor Great Dwarf Armor - In PUGs without another source of bonus armor.

Usage[]

Weapon set usage

  • Cast spells in the appropriate 40/40 set. Spirit Siphon can be used in any weapon set.
  • Switch to your high energy set when needed.
  • Switch to your shield set when idle, under attack, or using Shadow Theft.

Skill usage

  • Engage with Life β†’ Shadow Theft β†’ Ebon Escape back to safety.
    • Prefer a target heavily impaired by the attribute loss.
    • Ideally, let a tanking party member or EVAS take aggro first.
  • Spot heal and remove potent conditions with Spirit Light, Mend Body and Soul and Ebon Escape.
  • Maintain Splinter Weapon on martial party members.
  • Use Life on recharge.
  • Drain spirits high on energy with Spirit Siphon.
  • Party heal with Protective Was Kaolai. Cast it preemptively when your other skills aren't needed and energy is plentiful.
  • Renew Shadow Theft as needed.
    • If possible, use it as the fight ends. This improves Splinter Weapon buffing outside of combat.

Counters[]

  • Standard anti-caster.
    • As a martial profession, you will not be targeted with Backfire when in shield set or holding Protective Was Kaolai.
  • Spirit being killed with none other in earshot.

Notes[]

  • Using Shadow Theft or Ebon Escape forces you to drop Protective Was Kaolai.
