Green thumbs up

This build is provisionally vetted good pending more votes.

This build has received a provisional rating in the range from 3.75 to < 4.75 and thus qualifies for the lower category of working builds: Good.

This build has been designed for the following use:

A general purpose spin on the classic 55 Monk, the 330 Elementalist. Using Protection and Earth Magic skills this build negates any direct damage, and can farm both casters and physicals in Hard Mode. As the build's core consists of only a handful of skills, it is highly customizable.

Skills and Attributes

Your maximum Energy is raised by 18.

Optional skills:

  • Aftershock Aftershock - extra damage, makes it easier to mop up mobs especially stragglers.
  • Elemental Lord Elemental Lord - higher SA damage, bit better energy management and some healing (if necessary).
  • Earth Attunement Earth Attunement - sometimes necessary for energy management when farming smaller groups with Obsidian Flesh Obsidian Flesh .
  • Ward of Stability Ward of Stability , "Don't Trip!" "Don't Trip!" or "I Am Unstoppable!" "I Am Unstoppable!" - against KD.
  • Dismiss Condition Dismiss Condition - to combat a small amount of condition pressure.
  • Feel No Pain Feel No Pain - to sustain a small amount of degen. NO DRINKING!
  • Drunken Master Drunken Master or Mindbender Mindbender - if the farming spot is far from the portal and you have a spare slot.

Equipment

  • Full Radiant Armor with Runes of Attunement where necessary
  • 40/20/20 Earth staff

Usage

  • Cast Balthazar's Spirit Balthazar's Spirit upon entering the zone.
  • Immediately before aggroing, apply Protective Spirit Protective Spirit and Stoneflesh Aura Stoneflesh Aura in this order (this is important).
    • Always recast Protective Spirit just before Stoneflesh is recharged, and cast Stoneflesh on CD. If either of these enchants run out, you die.
  • Ball enemies up, then cast Ebon Battle Standard of Honor Ebon Battle Standard of Honor -> Glyph of Renewal Glyph of Renewal -> Sliver Armor Sliver Armor . Keep doing this until everything is dead.

Farmable Areas

Glyph of Renewal

Hulking Stone Elementals

Recommended skills: Drunken Master Drunken Master + Elemental Lord Elemental Lord

  • Start from Sardelac Sanitarium.
  • Go north, maintain your enchants and just follow the road.
  • Ball up as many elementals as possible.

Stalking Nephilia

Recommended skills: Drunken Master Drunken Master

  • Start from Sunspear Great Hall and head south.
  • Avoid any other type of mob, especially nearby casters.
  • Ball the mobs up on the far side of the hill then mow them down with Sliver.

Jade Brotherhood Knights

  • Start from The Marketplace.
  • Pull both groups at once.

Charr

Recommended skills: Elemental Lord Elemental Lord + either Ward of Stability Ward of Stability or "I Am Unstoppable!" "I Am Unstoppable!"

  • Start the Nolani Academy Mission.
  • Display your Ebon Vanguard Agent title if you have one, the Rebel Yell bonus works here!
  • Check which boss has spawned - if it's Red Eye, /resign. If not, proceed.
  • Apply all your enchants (except Sliver) before right before pulling the lever.
  • After pulling the lever, start running towards the gate. Try not to get bodyblocked by the charr.
  • At the gate use your anti-KD skill and refresh your enchants. Wait for the Charr to ball on you a bit then run outside.
  • There's an effigy in a pit, circle around it just once. When you're halfway through, refresh your enchants again.
  • If done right, the Flame Wielders and the boss should be balled up. Run to them, use your anti-KD, refresh enchants, put down EBSoH and start spiking.
  • Kill priority: Flame Wielder > Boss > Melee charr > Stalkers. Once the Flame Wielders are down you no longer have to use the anti-KD skill, but until then maintain it on CD.
    • It's important to kill Stalkers last. Their rapid ranged attacks serve as constant fuel for Sliver Armor thus making your job easier.

Tusked Howlers

  • Start from Yohlon Haven.
  • Head north, do not pull any other mobs. Ball them up and spike.

Dragon Mosses

Recommended skills: Elemental Lord Elemental Lord + Radiation Field Radiation Field

  • Requires the quest A New Escort.
  • Start from Saint Anjeka's Shrine and go south.
  • After taking aggro, run back a bit towards the outpost along the chasm - there's a Warden group patrolling the area you do not want to pull.
  • When the Wardens go back, move into melee of the Dragon Moss group and nuke as usual.

Sand Drakes

  • Start from Elona Reach.
  • Ball them up and spike as usual.

Sand Elementals

Recommended skills: Ward of Stability Ward of Stability + "I Am Unstoppable!" "I Am Unstoppable!"

  • Start from Heroes' Audience.
  • Apply enchants as usual.
  • Start taking aggro and activate IAU the moment an elemental is getting into melee range as they use Shock Shock .
  • Do as usual, but always have an anti-KD skill active!

Luxon Assassins

Recommended skills: Drunken Master Drunken Master + one (or two) anti-kd skills ( Ward of Stability Ward of Stability , "Don't Trip!" "Don't Trip!" , "I Am Unstoppable!" "I Am Unstoppable!" )

  • Required quest: The Halcyon Job.
  • Don't do any of the objectives, just rush straight to the village - Assassins spawn near villagers.
    • If having more Kurzick Faction than Luxon Faction, do not pay to activate the shrine when you enter the zone and run into the group of Kraken Spawn off to the right to get yourself killed. You will be directly resurrected at the farming location.
  • Bring an anti-kd skill (or two if you want complete protection), you can either take them on one group at a time or you can aggro every group at the same time and do a giant ball on one of the stone stairs in the village.

Bosses

  • AssassinTahkayun Tsi. Use the surrounding ranged mobs to fuel SA, bring Elemental Lord Elemental Lord to boost the effectiveness of Stoneflesh if you also wish to kill the surrounding mantids later on.
  • MonkZiinjuu Life Crawler. Try to position yourself in a way that only the boss is in range of SA. Nearby kappa patrols can be aggro'd for more SA ticks. Bring a running skill.

Obsidian Flesh

Torment Creatures

Recommended skills: Elemental Lord Elemental Lord + Feel No Pain Feel No Pain
Bring a Ranger hero with Edge of Extinction.

  • Enter the Domain of Fear from the Gate of Fear with your Lightbringer title on. The higher the rank, the better.
  • Flag your hero near the portal, enchant yourself, then ball the multiple groups in front of you. Those will be composed of mostly Rains of Terror and Spears of Torment.
  • Be careful not to aggro Scythes of Chaos, as they can interrupt you. If no Scythes of Chaos accompany the Storm of Anguish, you can take on his group.
  • When everything is balled, bring your hero into spirit range, have him cast EoE, then flag him out of range. Cast Sliver armor (multiple times) so everything dies.
    • In the Domain of Fear, it is also possible to farm the Torment mobs outside the Gate of Secrets. Same method applies.

Snowmen

Stone Scale Kirins

Recommended skills: Earth Attunement Earth Attunement

  • Start from Maatu Keep.
  • Do not pull any other mobs.

Hydras (Skyward Reach)

Recommended skills: Earth Attunement Earth Attunement

Hydras & Flesh Golems (Perdition Rock)

Recommended skills: Elemental Lord Elemental Lord + Aftershock Aftershock and Radiation Field Radiation Field (instead of Sliver Armor Sliver Armor and Ebon Battle Standard of Honor Ebon Battle Standard of Honor )

  • Start from Ember Light Camp.
  • Cast your enchantments, then pull all the Hydras & Golems around the little lava lake directly in front of you by moving counterclockwise.
  • Arrving again near your starting point, do the Right Wall Block [1] with your ball near the rock formation to the right of the lava lake opening (in front of the Resurrection Shrine, next to a burnt tree).
  • Start casting your offensive skills between your enchantments.
    • Aftershock is more efficent than Sliver Armor here, as it will deny the Flesh Golems the opportunity to create minions to heal themselves (using Taste of Death Taste of Death ).

Bosses

Notes

  • It's not necessary to have exactly 330hp, just don't have more than that.
  • Technically almost anything listed under Glyph of Renewal can also be farmed with Obsidian Flesh, it's just going to be slower and more complicated.
