It's a relic of the past and not particularly fast, but still gets the job done.

55/SoA farming is definitely old school, but still effective in some areas. This particular build page makes me cringe a bit though. It's too generic, I would actually never find myself using Blessed Signet or Watchful Spirit, most likely. There are more optimal ways to tune the build based on the target.

Boss Farmer

In the case of the Mo/N SS build (OwQTc4HDHSucloe4uCVkmMPQeAA), it's pretty much the only viable farming build for certain bosses in the Silent Surf (two slots of KD prevention, bounty to mitigate bleeding, two for damage and four for protection). Necro primary kinda works too, however the cushion from Divine Favor makes this much more forgiving to use.

Vermin Farmer

Very easy to use and quite forgiving if you use a 20% enchanting staff with HCT mods instead. First run dropped an Elite Tome, second run dropped two Gold Celestial weapons. Slow, but can't think of anything else that works decently in HM here. Plus if you restrict yourself to NM, you're bound to get shitty non-max weapon drops.

General

As to the other areas with Shield of Judgement, undead farming isn't my thing but it probably still works.

A testament to Guild Wars' unique mechanics and (still!) a good setup for players wanting to get into farming.

It works in a lot of places, even if those farms are not very profitable.

The original 55 Monk is also more safe and versatile than the Necromancer or Mesmer variants.
