Heroes can manage their own energy + heal properly. (Lack of weapon of warding will probably get your hero killed)

Common-as-dirt healer that pretty much never runs out of energy. Having room for a small secondary role is pretty good too.

If you need a dedicated healer this is the way to go. Strong heals and condition removal with great energy management. Additional room for a little support. Only minor flaw is lack of hex removal (but these days most bring offensive hex removals anyway, e.g. Shatter Hex).

The best dedicated healer hero there is, having the ability to take 2 to 3 optional skills is also nice.

Abuses Soul Reaping, SoLS, and hero AI to pump heals forever.

abuses SoLS and SR for massive e-manage. Can keep up with some pressure but has no prots. Resto elites are meh and your best choice is to hybrid into Curses/Blood or Death (for discord)

Very nice healing, condi removal and e-management. Lacks hex removal and prots though.

Heals but doesn't do much else. The party healing is fair for a hero and you get some condition removal, but you lose a lot of flexibility in exchange for Soul Reaping; no potential for prots nor hex removal.

Abuses the superior energy management from Soul Reaping in PvE, allowing skills to be spammed constantly. Strong single target healing from the Restoration line, as well as party-wide healing from PwK and spirits.

Loses a point for Universality, due to the lack of flexibility in areas with smaller party sizes. Cannot remove hexes or spec into Protection.

Works best in the BiP variant, no matter the team build. A pure healer is usually not worth it.

-1 effectivity for a main bar 4 seconds resurrection skill on a healer. The only backline heroes which can fairly use resurrection skills with a casting time are mesmer healers (13+ fast cast) and ST prots (their prots keep working while they rez). A healer resurrecting forces more kills.
