Usage[]

  • Keep your team free from conditions with "It's Just a Flesh Wound.":
  1. Clear your frontline. It has to function at full effectivity at all times, so blind, weakness and cripple have to be removed immediately.
  2. Remove deep wound from party members under attack. Note that this doesn't apply if your prot plays Restore Condition.
  3. If you see that a spike is about to happen, remove cracked armour from the targeted party member.
  4. Dismiss degeneration conditions.
  5. Take care of any remaining conditions.
  • Your energy is sufficient to use this skill on recharge.
  • Maintain Aggressive Refrain. This is most easily done by using "To the Limit!" on recharge.
  • Use "Watch Yourself!" (PvP) whenever possible.
  • Perform spikes:
    • Follow frontline spikes with your attack skills. Remove stances when opportune with Wild Throw.
    • If you play alongside plenty of midline damage, such as a Lightning Surge elementalist, call midline spikes.
    • Use "Go for the Eyes!" (PvP) after Vicious Attack while the spear is mid-air.
  • Inbetween spikes pressure targets in their cast sets. When playing offensively, pressure the infuse monk.

Counters[]

  • General anti-physical.
  • Diversion on "It's Just a Flesh Wound.".

Notes[]

  • As you can take care of conditions easily your backline may prefer to play something other than a standard Restore Conditions Prot.
    • A Peace and Harmony Prot is superior against all hex based builds. Due to your condition removal it's usually the better choice even if the only hexes are Lightning Surge and Lightning Strike.
    • The Life Sheath Prot is a good choice against pressure spikes, dual mesmer setups and if you want to defend against triple damage splits with runner and prot.
    • Aura of Faith offers redbarring and spike protection features.
