This build has been designed for the following use:

This build is designed to safely farm tightly balled mobs using both Earthquake and Dragon's Stomp from a distance (Mindbender and Earthbind allowing a perfect long knockdown sequence) followed by a PbAoE spike. Kournan soldiers of the quest Fish in a Barrel and Jade Brotherhood of the quest Missing Daughter can be farmed for q8 items (like the Slave Spirits of the Desolation and the Corsairs of Moddok). The 72 Margonites of the quest Battle of Turai's Procession can also be killed using this build. Those farms are done in Hard Mode, and three heroes are used, placed far away from the action so as to not take any drops.

Player Equipment

  • Armor
    • Highest Superior Vigor rune possible.
    • Radiant insignias.
  • Weapons
    • One-handed weapon with caster mods (Energy +5 mod and +20% enchanting mod). As always, Totem Axe and Rajazan's Fervor are ideal.
    • A shield with a shield handle of Fortitude. An Earth Magic focus with a "Live for Today" inscription and a focus core of Fortitude is a viable alternative.
    • Do NOT use any HCT mods, it messes up the timing.

Usage

Kournan Soldiers

  • Head into the Command Post, take the quest.
  • Move into the Sunward Marches, then talk to Jerob No-Spine.
  • Head to the group of foes. When you see the Infuriating Heat effect on your bar, move a little bit forward then flag your heroes.
  • Drop your Ranger Spirits (from left to right), then Ritual Lord -> Earthbind -> Ritual Lord -> Vital Weapon on yourself.
  • Flag your heroes very far away (near or beyond the Resurrection Shrine).
  • Move calmly towards the enemy group. Do not enter their aggro circle. When you see the dialogue popping, move back.
  • Some of them will scatter, then rejoin the group after a few seconds.
  • When they are balled again, target one of the nearest enemies (one closest to the center of the group).
  • Out of aggro range, cast Ebon Battle Standard of Honor, then all your spells in this order (2->3->4->5->6->8->7) in quick succession. Always have two spells on the casting queue so the timing is right.
  • Pick up your drops.
  • Abandon the quest. Repeat if you want.

The running path.

Margonites

  • Display your Lightbringer title. Must be rank 8 for this to work properly.
  • Start out of Venta Cemetery into Turai's Procession with the quest "Battle of Turai's Procession" in your quest log.
  • Run to the battlefield with your heroes. See the little map on the right for more information about the most efficient running path. ->
  • Flag your heroes above the battlefield, at a safe distance, way behind the Centaurs.
  • Trigger the battle between the Centaurs and the Margonites by moving forward, then backward towards your heroes.
  • Wait for the battle to conclude, and for the Margonites to regroup themselves.
  • Move near the enemy group, in Spirit range. Drop your Ranger Spirits (from left to right), then Ritual Lord -> Earthbind -> Ritual Lord -> Vital Weapon on yourself.
  • Flag your heroes near Mirza Veldrunner, out of range so they don't take any of your drops.
  • Target one of the nearest enemies (one closest to the center of the group).
  • Out of aggro range, cast Ebon Battle Standard of Honor, then all your spells from left to right with a second Intensity cast in between (2->3->4->5->3->6->7->8) in quick succession. Note that both Earthquake and Dragon's Stomp must be boosted by Intensity for this to work (see the Notes section). Always have two spells on the casting queue so the timing is right.
  • Pick up your drops. Get back on the little ledge, then wait for the next group to arrive. 3 groups of 24 Margonites will come, followed by one last group with the Torment Weaver boss.
  • Usually the Torment Weaver will not die if you chose to spike the last group. With luck, he can end alone and with extremely low health. In that case, pull him back to the spirits, as he will target them. Walk in circles around him until you can finish him using Shockwave and Aftershock.

Jade Brotherhood

  • Enter Bukdek Byway from the Marketplace.
  • Head towards Aiko. Flag your heroes at a safe distance, near the first Canthan Guard.
  • Cast Mindbender, then talk to Aiko. Run back to your team.
  • Drop your Ranger spirits (from left to right), then Ritual Lord -> Earthbind -> Ritual Lord -> Vital Weapon on yourself.
  • Look northeast, the flag your heroes on the bridge to your right.
  • Wait until the Jade Brotherhood regroup. Move calmly towards them, do not enter their aggro circle.
  • Target one of the nearest enemies (one closest to the center of the group).
  • Out of aggro range, cast Mantra of Resolve, then all your spells from left to right with a second Intensity cast in between (1->2->3->4->5->3->6->7) in quick succession. Note that both Earthquake and Dragon's Stomp must be boosted by Intensity for this to work. Always have two spells on the casting queue so the timing is right.
  • Pick up your drops. You do not need to abandon the quest if doing multiple runs, just talk to Aiko again.

Counters

  • Extremely bad spawns (very rare).

Notes

  • With practice, it is possible for Intensity to boost the damage of both Earthquake and Dragon's Stomp. Simply wait until ~4 seconds are left on the first Intensity before casting Earthquake, then cast the second Intensity during Dragon's Stomp's casting time. This technique is mandatory against the Margonites.

Kournans

  • Do not enter the Kournans' aggro circle, even when they are friendly. If you do, they will chase you after turning foes.
  • At the farming spot, be mindful of the insects' patrol to your left, and Mandragor spawns to your right.
  • Those enemies drop a very large number of runes.

Margonites

  • Timing must be perfect, but 100% unconditional success rate can easily be achieved with experience.
  • Those enemies drop a very large number of runes.
