This build has been designed for the following use:

This GvG team build, usually referred to as LaG Spike, features strong spikes with effective backline shutdown in 8v8 situations but can also be used to force a 28 minute game by splitting team members.

Usage

  • Use Horns of the Ox and Wastrel's Collapse to knock down two monks for a spike.
    • You can call a spike on the monk you knocked down with wastrel's collapse and follow with Falling Lotus Strike and Twisting Fangs.
  • Mark targets with fox fangs, start attacking a different target without using attack skills; then call a spike on the earlier marked target with instant twisting fangs.
  • Split off with the mind burn elementalist if your team needs to regenerate from exhaustion or your opponent has too much shutdown in an 8v8 situation.

Tactics

Playing this team

Game Plan Probe whether you can win in an 8v8 situation. If not, gain ground with splitting.
8v8

  • Perform spikes in which every monk is shut down.

Flag

  • Hold on your runner.

Split

  • Defend with the runner.
  • If necessary, split the assassin and one or two elementalists. Keep collapsing and re-splitting until the opponent does a mistake and you can score a kill.

Lategame

  • Defend with mind burn, assassin and runner.

Playing against this team

8v8 Situations

  • Keep Aura of Stability on one of the other monks.
  • Shut down the elementalists. Mind shock is easier to take care of and more important.
  • Disenchant the assassin.

Flag

  • Try dual running and flag pushing if your builds allow for it.

Split

  • Don't defend with your runner against a single damage split.

Lategame

  • Avoid having a single monk against their mind shock elementalist.
