Usage

  • Snare whoever is running the flag.
  • Use Blurred Vision on physicals, prefer hammer warriors and rangers.
  • Use Mirror of Ice on an ally next to your target if it is protected by Aegis (PvP).
  • Body block the snared flag runner.

  • Protect fragile team members with Stone Sheath. Try to hit a mesmer or whoever is running the flag with it aswell, so you can knock him down with Stoning.
  • Assist the water elementalist in snaring, use Ward Against Foes at bottlenecks or in the vicinity of the flag stand.
  • Body block the snared flag runner.

You activate Spells and Signets 40% faster. (No effect for non-Mesmer skills with a cast time less than 2 seconds.)
In PvE, the recharge time of your Mesmer Spells is reduced by 33%.

Playing this team

Game Plan Push their flag so you boost, giving you the advantage in an 8v8 where you pressure the opponent down.
8v8

  • Flag push.

Flag

  • Push on their flag with your elementalists and wastrel's.

Split

  • If they want to split, snare them so they stop doing it or you have enough time to react.
  • Snare their runner whenever you want to split your elementalist offensively, giving him time to catch an NPC.

Lategame

  • Defend with your snare elementalists and runner.

Playing against this team

8v8 Situations

  • Use AoE damage to punish their point-blank snare elementalists.
  • Call midline spikes.

Flag

  • If you can't effectively run flags, try to win in an 8v8 without flag running.

Split

  • Split multiple characters as you won't achieve much against the defending lightning surge without support.

Lategame

  • Shut down the air elementalist.
