This build has been designed for the following use:

Uses a "600" tank and a Mesmer nuker to recreate the old-school "55/SS" UW experience. Used for farming Globs of Ectoplasm from Bladed Aatxes, Smite Crawlers, and Skeletons of Dhuum in the Labyrinth and the Ice Wastes. Does not actually require 600 health. The nuker may also be a hero.

600 Monk (SV/AV Variant)

Your allies are healed for 45 Health whenever you cast Monk spells on them.

  • Use this variant so that the nuker does not need to supply SV/AV.
  • This variant makes pulling easier, as SV/AV can be managed by the tank (helpful in preventing energy denial caused by Grasping Darknesses).

600 Monk (AI/AE Variant)

Your allies are healed for 45 Health whenever you cast Monk spells on them.

  • Can be used to maintain a longer Spell Breaker, and to refill the energy bar more quickly.
  • Requires that the nuker supply SV/AV.

Equipment

  • 15ar armor set
  • Full Radiant Insignias
  • Rune's of Attunement
  • 20% enchanting Protection Prayers staff such as Kepkhet's Refuge

Usage

  • Maintain Blessed Aura.
  • Maintain Mantra of Resolve against Aatxes and Grasping Darknesses, and against Coldfire Nights if you choose to engage them.
  • Use Protective Spirit prior to engaging enemies.
  • Use Shield of Absorption to reduce damage to 0.
  • Use Spirit Bond to refill health before renewing Shield of Absorption, and to refill health when Skeletons are aggroed with other foes.
  • Use Spell Breaker when pulling groups within the vicinity of Dying Nightmares.
  • Wand any Dying Nightmare spawns to death. It will take 2-3 hits to kill them.
  • Only engage Skeletons if other creature types are also engaged (as the other creatures will be able to trigger Spirit Bond). Otherwise, use techniques to evade Skeleton's projectiles, such as standing behind walls, and kiting left to right. Let the nuker solo Skeletons when possible.
  • Use Sympathetic Visage and Ancestor's Visage in alteration to prevent energy denial from Grasping Darknesses, and when engaging Smite Crawlers (prevents them from healing and from removing hexes). These enchantments should also be maintained when working with a Wastrel's nuker (to prevent skill usage, to trigger Wastrel's Worry and Wastrel's Demise).

Nuker (Illusion Variant)

You activate Spells and Signets 46% faster. (No effect for non-Mesmer skills with a cast time less than 2 seconds.)
In PvE, the recharge time of your Mesmer Spells is reduced by 39%.

  • Ether Signet Ether Signet For heroes (or bring another skill of choice).

Equipment

  • Full Radiant
  • Runes of Attunement
  • 40/40 Illusion Set (essential/required for DPS)
  • +10 vs slashing defensive set

Usage

  • Maintain Balthazar's Spirit on the tank.
  • Wait for the tank's signal before engaging.
  • Use Ether Feast to manage health loss from Skeletons.
  • While engaged in combat, maintain Lyssa's Aura, and spam your Illusion Magic damage skills.
  • Solo single skeletons which are not engaged with other groups. Can use kiting/wall tactics to avoid damage (although not required).
  • Disable Balthazar's Spirit and Rebirth if nuker is a hero.

Nuker (Domination Variant)

You activate Spells and Signets 46% faster. (No effect for non-Mesmer skills with a cast time less than 2 seconds.)
In PvE, the recharge time of your Mesmer Spells is reduced by 39%.

  • More difficult to operate for both the tank and the nuker, but can outperform the Illusion variant when used effectively.

  • 40/40 Domination Set (Not as essential for DPS as 40/40 is for the Illusion variant)

Usage

  • Similar usage to the Illusion variant.
  • Spam Wastrel's Demise and Wastrel's Worry on enemies, cycle through enemies so that the hexes are not reapplied before they expire.
  • The tank must maintain Sympathetic Visage and Ancestor's Visage to prevent foes from using skills.
  • Use Empathy against Skeletons. Use kiting tactics against Skeletons as this variant has less defense than the Illusion variant.
