Use Warrior's Endurance to fund "You Move Like a Dwarf!", allowing the player to instantly start a repeating Renewing Smash chain, quickly dealing large amounts of single-target damage while spamming AoE knockdowns via Yeti Smash for strong shutdown. Ideally used in teams with conditions or with Withering Aura on a death magic hero.

Equipment

Usage

Weapon set usage

  • Vampiric hammer as the main weapon; use your Zealous hammer in areas with heavy energy denial
  • Use the spear for ranged damage when you can't reach a target or are snared

Skill usage

  • Core Skills
    • Pre-cast Warrior's Endurance before fights and maintain it
    • Use your IAS stance to attack faster
  • Core Combo Chain
    • Use "You Move Like a Dwarf!" to instantly start your combo chain
    • Use Renewing Smash x4 in quick succession for massive damage and to gain 4 strikes of adrenaline
    • Auto attack once and instantly follow up by using Protector's Strike to finish off foes and to gain 2 strikes of adrenaline
    • Repeat combo chain using Yeti Smash as your knockdown source (foe must have a condition); two Yeti Smash combos can be used in between every "YMLaD!" combo
    • "YMLaD!" -> Renewing Smash x4 -> Auto Attack + Prot Strike -> Yeti Smash -> Renewing Smash x4 -> Auto Attack + Prot Strike -> Yeti Smash -> etc.
  • Variable Damage Skills
    • Use Crude Swing for additional AoE damage and as a Splinter Weapon proc on balled foes, or to help build adrenaline
    • Use Power Attack to finish off enemies with low health you may not want to start a new combo chain on
    • Use "Finish Him!" as a finisher & deep wound when applicable; use of a Zealous hammer may be necessary
    • Use Pulverizing Smash instead of a 4th Renewing Smash in your combo chain for spammable deep wound; adjust your combo chain as necessary:
      • Auto Attack -> "YMLaD!" -> Renewing Smash x3 -> Pulverizing Smash -> Auto Attack + Prot Strike -> Yeti Smash -> Renewing Smash x3 -> Pulverizing Smash -> Auto Attack + Prot Strike -> Yeti Smash -> etc.
  • Variable Utility Skills
    • Use Asuran Scan to bypass effects which would make you miss an attack
    • Use "I Am Unstoppable!" to remove/prevent cripple, when you expect to be knocked down soon, or when you get hit by armor dependent damage
    • Use Aura of Thorns before attacking with Yeti Smash to meet the condition requirement if you have no other condition source, such as Withering Aura
    • Pre-cast Dwarven Stability with your staff of enchanting and maintain it to lengthen the duration of Burst of Aggression
    • Use Dash or Death's Charge to close the gap to foes quickly. Dash can also be used to cancel Frenzy when you're taking too much damage

Counters

  • Interrupt on renewing smash
  • General anti-physical hexes
  • Blind and hexes such as Blurred Vision and blocking effects can disable Renewing Smash; counter this with Asuran Scan
  • Foes immune to knockdown; counter this with Earthbind, preferably on a Soul Twisting Prot Hero, and disable & micro as necessary

Notes

  • Benefits strongly from melee buffs such as Splinter Weapon, Strength of Honor, Judge's Insight, and Cracked Armor
  • If you're enchanted with Withering Aura you can knock down targets which are not yet suffering from a condition, as the enchantment applies weakness before your attacks hit
  • Against foes that have Stun Immunity bringing Earthbind will allow them to be knocked down
  • Position yourself between foes before using Yeti Smash or Crude Swing in order to hit as many foes as possible, increasing adrenaline gain, damage, and/or shutdown
  • If you cast "You Move Like a Dwarf!" right after activating Renewing Smash but before the attack actually hits, you can fit in 5 Renewing Smash hits over the course of the 3-second long knockdown; however bad timing can result in the foe getting up before the 5th hit and Renewing Smash going on cool down for 30s
  • Because of the high up-front energy cost needed to start your combo chain ("YMLaD!" + Renewing Smash costs 15 energy total), 25 max energy (acquired via 2 runes of attunement on armor) is preferable so that you are able to use other important skills (WE, IAS, "IAU!", Asuran Scan, Death's Charge, etc) as necessary at the start of combat; alternatively, Runes of Clarity and Restoration can be used instead to help keep yourself clean of meddlesome conditions
