Introduction

This guide compiles all of the current green farms that can be done using a Mesmer. They also all have a guide for each one that include a video, builds, images, and more. The general section will explain the common things and basic setup you will find here. There is also some choices left up to you as the player in many cases, the specific builds will say what is required, what is best, and what your options are. However if you have any issues, questions, additions/changes, etc. please contact me in the discussion tab or on my page and I will get in touch with you.

General Setup

55/105/135 hp build

A lot of these are based off of the 55 hp concept. Getting your hp low enough to where [skill prot spirit] reduces the incoming damage enough to make skills like [shileding hands] and [shield of absoprtion] reduce damage to 0 making you invulnerable basically. When it comes down to using this method you will most of the time have an option to run 55, 105, or 135 hp set up. If one is required it will be specified.

Armor

The armor is always the same minus the head piece, some builds need different +1 head pieces. With all of these on you will have 105 hp, to change this depends on your weapons in the next section. Which rune on which piece from chest to feet does not matter, as long as you have one of each and all have +3 runes.

  • Head: Inherent +1 (will be specified in the corresponding build guide) with a +3 (will be specified in the corresponding build guide) and a radiant insignia.
  • Chest: +3 rune of domination magic and a radiant insignia.
  • Hands: +3 rune of illusion magic and a radiant insignia.
  • Legs: +3 rune of inspiration magic and a radiant insignia.
  • Feet: +3 rune of fast casting and a radiant insignia.

Weapons

These determine the difference in hp as well as kind of how you want the build to work. Each guide will specify which weapons need to be used and what you have a choice of.

  • An any req max staff with a 20% enchant staff wrapping, swift staff head, and a "Don't Think Twice" inscription.
    • A more specific varient to this, would be a max staff with a req for a specific attribute, mostly dom or illusion, with a 20% enchanting staff wrapping, adept staff head, and an "Aptitude not Attitude" inscription. I would say the generic 20/20/20 staff will be more used than this specific one, however this specific one will have small advantage in specific farms but is not needed as usual.
  • Spear/sword/axe with 20% enchant mod, and with "Let the Memory Live Again" inscription, "I have the power!" inscription, or the "Don't Think Twice" inscription.
    • Generally I sit on the "Let the Memory Live Again" inscription, but have a +5 energy one with "I have the power!" incase I hit a low energy spot, and the "Don't Think Twice" inscription for times that halfing skill recharge is not beneficial. If you do not want to invest in all that simply an "I have the power!" inscription is easiest to find and very common and will work fine.
  • A focus item that has a focus core of aptitude, one with core of swiftness, and one with a core of fortitude. The 2 inscription choices are "Serenity Now" or "Forget Me Not".
    • You only need the +30 hp focus core of fortitude if you want to run a 135 hp set up. This is only useful when dealing with things where you still take damage through your enchantments, or if you are slow at keeping your [skill shielding hands] and [soa] alternated without downtime, as the extra hp could kee you alive if you drop one for a second. You will mostly never use this to be 100% optimal, but can get by just using this if you prefer.
    • Generally you can get by fine with a domination focus item with a core of aptitude and not need to worry about having the others, incase you do not want to bother getting the different types. This is best when wanting to just speed up on specific attributed skills casting times. For multiple/no attributed skills you will want a core of swiftness.
  • The [grim cest] from the quest [title] in Prophecies. This is required for anything that needs your hp to be at 55 because of the -50 hp mod on it that is found nowhere else. You will very rarely need to use this, almost always you can rely on just being at 105 hp.
    • "Serenity Now" is used for multiple/no attribute chance for halving skil recharge. "Forget Me Not" is for specific attributed skills to get a half recharge chance. Again, these are optimaly speaking, just choosing one or the other is fine to sit on.

Any number hp build

Some of these methods do not require you to use a specific amount of hp as you will not be encountering any damage, very small amounts, or ways of not taking damage outside of skill usage.

Armor

  • The armor for these things vary and will be posted on the build guide for what is exactly needed. However the armor sets from the 55/105/135 section will not vary from these too much. You might drop one +3 rune for some extra hp but nothing too drastic. So if you already have those then you are not that far off.

Weapons

The weapons here usually come down to casting things faster and getting them on half rechagre, or keeping your energy up.

  • A 40/40 set is usually what is used. If you have a 40/40 dom set this is what you will want to have most of the time. Having a 40/40 illusion set will be nice as well.
  • A high energy set, which will be a wand with the "Seize the Day" inscription and a wrapping of memory, and focus item with the inscription "Live for Today" and a core of aptitude.
  • Have a wand/focus set with a wrapping of quickening and a "Don't Think Twice" inscription, and a core of swiftness with a "Serenity Now" inscription can be beneficial as well for multiple/no attributed skills. As usual, this is not required at all if you do not want, just optimal in certain situations.

Heroes

Some of these rely on specific skills needed from heroes (or other players but this is all assumed to be done solo), and sometimes it can just use heroes for added benefits. Each guide will say what is needed versus optional.

  • Ranger hero. Can also be Any/R but having a ranger hero allows for runes to make ranger skills more useful. I would suggest having one, but it is not that important.
  • Monk hero. This one is very easy to obtain and would say this is a definite need considering most skills fall under divine favor that are useful.
  • Paragon hero. This is another that can also be Any/P but paragons have access to runes to make their skills more effective as well. I would suggest having one because it does make a difference in certain farms.

Consumables

The point of these is to be easy as possible and require not that much of a player. You do not need any consumables but I will list the ones you can possibly use if you choose.

  • Lockpicks - for chests you may see in NM and do not have a key for. And for HM since this is where you will find the locked chests.
  • Keys - for whichever specific area you are in for incase you find a chest in NM.
  • Alcohol - cheap to get and can come in handy in some farms if you choose to use skills like [dwarven] or [durnken].

Skills

Another attempted goal of these is to not rely too heavy on PvE skills when possible but sometimes it is needed or strongly suggested. Sometimes you do not even need an elite skill if you choose not to. Of course the specific build guide will mention the options available.

  • Nightfall PvE skills
    • Some common ones can be [cry of pain], [necrosis], and [vampirisim]. I would go ahead and grab all of these anyways if you can afford it.
  • Factions PvE skills
    • The only one I would suggest of these is [summon spirits]. The faction you pay counts double towards your title so you can grab them all if you like.
  • Eye of the North PvE Skills
    • A very common one you should get is [pain inverter]. It is not hard if you follow the wiki. Some norn skills are also kind of important in certain cases like [finish him], [iau], and [ymlad]. The dwarven ones you can get are somewhat simple are [drawven stab] and [drunken master].

Me/Mo Echo Bahnba Farmer

Boss:Bahnba Shockfoot Green:Bahnba's Scepter.

You activate Spells and Signets 40% faster. (No effect for non-Mesmer skills with a cast time less than 2 seconds.)
In PvE, the recharge time of your Mesmer Spells is reduced by 33%.

Alternate Skills & Attributes

  • You can drop PI or Empathy for Backfire Backfire however it might be slower because his spells have a higher cooldown and it can be hard to time. If timed right it can be strong.
  • You can run 6 Fast Cating and bump Healing Prayers up to 6 to give it +5 health regen instead of +4 if you are having problems. But this is not needed if you learn what to do.

Equipment

Weapons

  • A spear, axe, or sword (the requirement does not matter) with a 20% of Enchanting grip/pommel and an "I have the power!" inscription. (The spearhead, haft, or hilt doesn't matter as long as it is not Vampiric or Zealous).
  • Any offhand that does not raise/lower your HP, nor reduces your energy regen.
    • The best offhand would be a q9 or q10 protection offhand with 40/40 mods, but it is not required.
  • The Grim Cesta knife from the Cities of Ascalon quest to give -50 hp.
    • This is not required, but on rare occasion, it could come in handy. Use this with your martial weapon on a second weapon set incase your echo runs out and you need to run. It makes incoming damage 5 instead of 10, making healing breeze better.

Armor

Consumables

  • Lockpicks/Luxon Key - might see a chest.

Guide

  • Watch here.
    • If you get hexed by the rit hex you need to protective spirit yourself so you do not die.

Counters

  • Rarely, sometimes you will get too much aggro along the way from one of the many groups you have to run past. Sometimes you will also have to wait for the Outcast group infront of the boss to either leave or fight and die. You can carefully assist the Luxon allies to speed it up.
  • Getting KD'ed when IAU is on cool down.
  • Messing up enchant timings/usage. If you are for some reason really slow killing the boss, your echo will run out, if you get hit by Consume Soul Consume Soul during this time you will die, or from taking too much damage.

Optional Skills

  • Can be swapped for same build as a Ritualist. But can also be ran as any proffession just by taking out Vocal was Sogolon Vocal was Sogolon .
    • Any/Paragon Any/P Shout Hero
"Incoming!" "Fall Back!" Enduring Harmony "Make Haste!" Optional Optional Optional Optional
  • Some optional skill ideas are Holy Veil Holy Veil to help remove the ritualist hex if you do not mind microing it.

Equipment

Weapons

  • Does not matter at all.

Armor

Guide

  • Cycle the two shouts "Incoming!" "Incoming!" and "Fall Back!" "Fall Back!" and make sure you use your hero to pull things out of the way. Use Enduring Harmony Enduring Harmony and then "Make Haste!" "Make Haste!" once you no longer need the hero to head to the boss.

Me/Mo 105 Eshekibeh Longneck Farmer

Build used by a Mesmer to farm Eshekibeh Longneck in HM to obtain his green as well as elite necro tomes.

You activate Spells and Signets 40% faster. (No effect for non-Mesmer skills with a cast time less than 2 seconds.)
In PvE, the recharge time of your Mesmer Spells is reduced by 33%.

Alternate Skills

  • You can use Empathy Empathy instead of Backfire Backfire but this is really really slow.
  • Can use "Finish Him!" "Finish Him!" instead of Pain Inverter Pain Inverter to finish him off when he is low enough, however he gets to that point a lot slower with only backfire.
  • You can run possible other regeneration skills but these are optimal.

Equipment

Weapons

  • A staff or martial weapon with enchanting mod. As long as they do not lower or raise your health, the rest does not matter. I used a domination staff of enchanting with 10% HCT, 10% HCT for a 20/20 enchanting staff, and also used an enchanting martial weapon with a 20/20 dom off hand.

Armor

Consumables

  • Lockpicks - might see a chest.

Guide

  • Watch here.
    • Use hero to pull the first group you encounter away if they are blocking the corner right infront of the boss.
    • Always maintain SoR and healing breeze.
    • He will not kill himself with backfire so save your second PI for when he is low enough to kill himself from that alone.

Counters

  • Getting aggro of side groups while fighting.
  • Dropping enchants or messing up timings.

Optional Shout Hero

You gain 2 Energy for each ally affected by one of your Shouts or Chants (maximum 1 Energy).

Armor

Guide

  • As soon as you start cast balth on yourself while your hero casts vocal was sogolon. Then swap between fallback and incoming until you get to the cliffs, then if you do not need your hero to pull aggro away then enduring yourself and make haste and go to boss.
  • Make sure to flag back far enough to not interfere with boss drops.

Me/N Frustration Brightclaw Farmer

Builds used by a Mesmer to farm Chkkr Brightclaw in HM to obtain his green as well as elite ritualist tomes.

You activate Spells and Signets 34% faster. (No effect for non-Mesmer skills with a cast time less than 2 seconds.)
In PvE, the recharge time of your Mesmer Spells is reduced by 27%.

Alternate Skills & Attributes

  • You can use other interupts such as Power Lock Power Lock or Power Return Power Return but these are really optimal and consistant so I would try and use these.
  • You can run 3 Fast Cating and bump illusion up to 12 to get more damage out, but your skills will now cast longer, so choose whichever you are most comfortable with.

Equipment

Weapons

  • A 40/40 domination set is best in hopes of getting half casting time on longer spells if you run 3 fast casting as well as recharging power spike faster as it does the most damage.

Armor

Consumables

  • Lockpicks/Kurzick Key - might see a chest.

Guide

  • Watch here.
    • Follow skill order, Empathy, Migraine, Frustraton, then wait and start using interupts, lead with Power Spike since it has the lowest CD, and after your first interupt, recast Empathy. The rest of the hexes will last until he dies.
    • Necrotic Traversal is used because of patrols, as well as going into the lake spawns pop up enemies. Sometimes depending on where he dies, you can still pop them just jumping to him so grab your things fast if this happens.

Counters

  • Missing interupts, or forgetting hexes.
  • Taking too long and the patrol getting to you, but if this happens you probably ran out of energy by messing up.
