The Admin noticeboard[]

There are a number of issues that can only be solved by an Administrator. The Admin noticeboard is one of the means through which users can contact Administrators in order to identify a problem that needs Administrative attention. Although editors are welcome to directly contact particular Administrators, posting on this page instead may be an easier way to let the entire Administrative group know of the issue (which may be particularly helpful since it increases the odds that at least one Administrator will see, and thus be able to respond to, the issue promptly).

There are only a limited number of things for which this page should be used. Many problems can be solved without Administrative intervention, and, thus, this page should be restricted to those issues that actually require an Administrator. Those are: blocking vandals, (un)deleting pages, (un)protecting pages, removing votes (either as per Real Vetting or because the build has been substantially edited), and mediation (only if the situation demands it).

Even in cases of vandalism, posting on this page needn't be the first step (and indeed should not be the first step). If you see vandalism, just go ahead and revert it, anyone has the power to do so. If it's a new article with no safe version to revert back to, tag it for deletion. In both cases you should leave a message in the talk page of that user to make him/her aware of why that kind of edit is unacceptable on PvXwiki. Only post here if that user persists in his/her actions, ignoring the warnings or if the content requires immediate Administrative attention (eg. if the material on the page is so offensive that should be immediately deleted).

(Be careful in case that user repeatedly insists on vandalizing, avoid a revert war; it's far better to temporarily leave the vandalized version of the page up until an admin has a chance to intervene.)

To create a new request: add an item to the bottom of the list below, providing a brief, neutral summary of the issue. As a sign of courtesy, also leave a message on the talk page of any other involved users so they are aware of this discussion. If you are alerting an admin of a vandal, use the {{IP}} template, with the first parameter being the vandal's IP or username. If you are requesting that vote(s) be removed, please use the {{Build}} template, with the first parameter being the build's name.

Note that this is not a talk page and that the respective moderators of each section reserve the right to remove non-administrative comments without discussion.

Please place new requests at the bottom of the corresponding issues heading.

Firefox rendering issues[]

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I've noticed rendering issues with Firefox (on Windows 10, and Mobile/Android when requesting the desktop site). All articles are completely empty. I can post screenshots if helpful. Has anyone else noticed this by chance? Us3r1OO425457 (talk) 20:59, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

Fyi, I've tracked it down to the Ghostery privacy extension. This is a pretty standard extension and up until recently I have not experienced problems with this site. It looks like all gamepedia wikis are affected? I haven't seen experienced this with any other site. Kinda concerning tbh. Firefox users who use Ghostery will probably think this site is just broken. Any ideas what may have caused the recent change? Us3r1OO425457 (talk)
You'd probably want to open a support ticket with Fandom. Looks like this is the current bug report form. Seems well beyond anything a PvXwiki admin could address.
Edit: Alternatively, it appears the gamepedia-specific bug form is still active here. Toraen (talk) 06:14, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
Awesome - thanks homie Us3r1OO425457 (talk) 23:40, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Not all build packs working[]

I have noticed that some of the build packs are able to be downloaded while others are not. For example I can download the Hero, pvp build pack, and pve team, but I am not able to download and use the General, PvE build pack, or all build packs. I am running Microsoft Edge on windows 10 home edition. What I am seeing is the file shows up as invalid. So I am not able to extract it or open it. I have not tested every pack. I reached out on reddit and someone commented they saw the same thing. But they did say that it was working on linux. Sorry if this was not the right place to put this. I was direct here by a comment on Reddit. --GdiThunder1 (talk) 23:05, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the report. One build page had an invalid name parameter set for its variantbars which resulted in a file name that corrupted the .zip archive. The variantbars have been renamed and I updated the build packs. They should work now. --Krschkr (talk) 11:58, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Visual Editor Is Busted[]

The "visual editor" is the default edit mode for new users. It does not work. Whenever I try to do anything with it, I get "Error contacting the Parsoid/RESTBase server (HTTP 403)". A Google search suggests this is a server config issue. Suggest either fixing the config issue or changing the default. --ChthonVII (talk) 15:17, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for the report. I've forwarded it to the support. --Krschkr (talk) 15:41, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
Chiming in, this is exactly the same message I still have to this day when using the "preview" tool in the source editor. I suspect Chton's issue and mine are one and the same. Other users might have the same error message popping too but are just not reporting it... Feydslynox (talk) 18:26, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

Profile Edit Issue[]

My profile pulled my personal email address pfp, which I would not like to be the case. I cannot edit it. The general Fandom help pages suggest this may be due to permissions here rather than Fandom itself. Can my pfp be removed or edited, please? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by ManicMagnus (talk) at 04:03, 12 February 2024‎ (UTC).

According to preferences:
"Avatar. Gamepedia uses Gravatar to display an avatar based on your email address. Visit gravatar.com to change your avatar. Please note that the avatar must be rated "G" or it will not appear."
Apparently this affects all fandom wikis that used to be gamepedia ones. I've issued a ticket to see whether they can update us to the Fandom way of manual profile picture uploads. In the meantime all you can do is set the standard user page as your default (less likely that people navigate to your profile) or change/remove the avatar using gravatar.com. Possibly a workaround would be to switch to an e-mail address without an associated picture, in case you've got a suitable extra one at your hands, and hope that your profile picture gets changed to something meaningless that way. --Krschkr (talk) 07:34, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
I've been told that it'd be difficult to change this functionality, but I see that you were able to change your profile picture with the limited options at hand. I hope that this will be good enough, as I sadly can't improve the situation. --Krschkr (talk) 20:32, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

Build-Specific Issues[]

Build-Specific refers to any issue pertaining to the removal of votes, usually resolved by an Administrator.

If you wish to dispute another user's vote, it is advised to do so on the build's talk page. This section of the noticeboard is intended to notify Admins of issues that can be speedily resolved (e.g. factually incorrect votes) or issues in need of mediation. Avoid debating builds or votes here.

Note: If applicable, please identify specific votes to improve admin response time.

E/A Dagger Spammer (talk · rate)[]

The discussion on Rainemard's vote seems to be getting unnecessarily heated, please keep an eye on the conversation. -Toraen (talk) 16:48, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

Guide:The Deep[]

While I'm normally loathe to bring up old drama, I don't think this was satisfactorily resolved. In the opinions of many including myself (as reflected in the earlier talk sections), this page should be in the guide namespace rather than build. I don't intend to say that the raw number of users in that poll is what should drive this decision, but the reasonings of their votes. Granted, the only vote still in the Build section of the poll is Emilesin's, who probably would have retracted that if they had remembered to do so before leaving the wiki (given their Real Vetting vote). -Toraen (talk) 15:39, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

Following the vote there's a guide draft that hasn't been pursued for a while, see here: [[Build:Team - The Deep BYOB/Guide Draft]]. We should get back to working on that to realize the page type conversion. --Krschkr (talk) 15:51, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
Since there were no more updates to it in a while and I've overwritten the page with the draft and moved the page accordingly. --Krschkr (talk) 21:07, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

N/D Soul Taker Scythe (talk · rate)[]

I updated the page, but the change isn't showing up in the recent changes page. Seemed odd, but maybe I'm missing something Us3r1OO425457 (talk) 00:19, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Try CTRL + F5 to purge the cache and refresh the page. --Krschkr (talk) 00:55, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
Hmm, interesting, still not seeing it. Does anything look wrong with my setup by chance (image below)? I am using firefox btw. Us3r1OO425457 (talk) 02:09, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
Recent changes
I think I figured it out actually. It's because I used an emoji in the change description :D. I reproduced this was a change to User:Us3r1OO425457/Ice_Tooth_Cave_Farmer. Us3r1OO425457 (talk) 02:19, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
