Special:GraceExpired[]

The links at the top (the words 'abandoned' and 'trash') don't seem to work right. It's a specialpage though, so it might have to be gcardinal or hhhippo that fixes it. --Wizardboy777 SigWizardboy777(T/C) 23:56, 28 September 2007 (CEST)

Odd... it times out, every time. Bug somewhere would be my bet. -- Armond WarbladeArmond sig image{{sysop}} 00:17, 29 September 2007 (CEST)
When you hold the mouse over them, you can see the urls they links to: 'http://wiki.pvxwiki.com/index.php?title=Category:Abandoned' and 'http://wiki.pvxwiki.com/index.php?title=Category:Trash-builds'. I think it's because it's wiki.pvxwiki.com instead of www.pvxwiki.com. It used to be wiki.pvxwiki, but I think it was changed a while back. That page probably just didn't get updated. --Wizardboy777 SigWizardboy777(T/C) 00:21, 29 September 2007 (CEST)

Vote Removal[]

Since you guys keep the back-end work pretty much to GCardinal and Hhhippo, I'll request here an ability to restore removed votes. Shouldn't be too hard, and it is easier than posting on the users talk pages and getting them to do it themselves. Less aggravating too. Thanks. - Kowal Krowman {{sysop}} 05:45, 30 August 2007 (CEST)

Implemented. Please test and report problems here. A reason has to be given even though it's not shown anywhere atm. (This is needed for RecentRatings to see the difference between a new/edited vote and a restored one.) – HHHIPPO ‹sysop› 23:22, 27 September 2007 (CEST)

Recent Ratings[]

Fixed a bug that caused the vote timestamps to be wrong for readers outside GMT+2. The times are shown in the reader's local time now. Note that atm, only the last update (that is, submission, edit, rollback or restore) of each vote is shown in Recent Ratings. There are plans to improve on that.– HHHIPPO ‹sysop› 23:22, 27 September 2007 (CEST)

Ratings[]

Timestamps on the ratings would be nice. Don't think it would be hard to implement, but adding them to all the old ratings might be tough. Not a big deal, but if possible, add it. --Wizardboy777 SigWizardboy777(T/C) 22:44, 27 September 2007 (CEST)

Build Master Implementation[]

So, as per general consensus, we're planning on doing a trial run to test out the impact of BMs on PvX. Rate tab[]

Would it be possible to have the rate tab also show how many ratings the build has received, and maybe even what its current rating is? Maybe like "rate (0.00, 0 votes)" or something like that. As it is, anonymous users, users without confirmed emails, and users without 8 contribs can't even view the ratings page. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(sysop) 18:11, 6 January 2008 (EST)

The message on the ratings page when you don't have enough contributions is improper English and hard to understand. Right now it says:

You can start by adding some info about yourself to your userpage.

I would change it to:

Contributions Required
PvXwiki requires you to have at least 8 contributions before voting. A contribution is any edit to any page.
A good way to get your first few contributions would be by adding some information about yourself to your userpage.

Right. We don't store the full history of votes, that is edits, removals and restores. At the moment only the last version is kept in the database. I think it would look confusing to have a reason for a restore with a vote, but no sign of when and why and by whom it was removed in the first place. The restoring reason is just a dummy entry at the moment. To implement a full history is on the long-term to do list :-) – HHHIPPO ‹sysop› 13:36, 17 May 2008 (EDT)

When a build is moved to user space...[]

It keeps the votes on it. Is there a way to check its namespace, and if it isn't the Build: space, it wipes the votes? ~~     Frvwfr2     talk    contribs    admin   09:17, 22 May 2008 (EDT)

I tested this, and basically, when a build with votes is moved to userspace (or probably anywhere outside of the Build: namespace), the ratings still show on recentratings and userratings, but the links to the page don't work (when I moved it to User:Wizardboy777/Test, the links on recentratings and userratings went to Build:Wizardboy777/Test), there's no rate tab on the page and &action=rate doesn't work (I'm assuming it's set up to only work in the Build: namespace). ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(sysop) 15:40, 22 May 2008 (EDT)
I did more testing, and if one creates the page Build:Wizardboy777/Test while User:Wizardboy777/Test (the one with the rating) still exists, recentratings will link to the first one, but that one won't have any votes. Also, I think auto-wiping votes when moved out of the Build: namespace would be a bad idea. Normal users would be able to wipe votes. Just have recentratings and userratings not display ratings for pages not in the Build: namespace. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(sysop) 15:53, 22 May 2008 (EDT)

Vertical-align for ratings[]

When a vote has a very long description, Overall, Effectiveness, Universality and Innovation tend to stick to the bottom instead of being in the same line as ratings. A style="vertical-align: center;" should be able to solve this. ~ ĐONT*TALK 09:48, 14 June 2008 (EDT)

SSL/SOCKS and Ratings[]

Right now, users surfing the web via UltraSurf, and quite possibly other secure proxy networks, cannot view Ratings pages. When a Ratings page is served to a user behind UltraSurf, an error is thrown.

Set $wgShowExceptionDetails = true; at the bottom of LocalSettings.php to show detailed debugging information.

Now, were this an isolated case, I wouldn't bring it up. It's along the same lines as browser compatability in a lot of aspects. However, Wikia, like many other information sites, is blocked by the Great Firewall of China, therefore automatically excluding any users from that region from participating in vetting or even viewing the ratings. Seeing as most, if not all, other pages are served correctly, this must have to do with an exception in how the ratings page is served.

Recent Ratings[]

Would it be possible to add a talk page link and rate page link to the recent ratings page? Useful for those of us who patrol it and want to see the new vote instantly.----Signature-Liger414The Liger is looking for a HA guild 20:06, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

I've added the links and hopefully did it correctly. Have to wait to try it on the dev server. -- Toraen talk 00:50, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

Rating Page Lock[]

We need a way to lock rating pages from additions and removals(Like a page protection). Also useful for archived builds, to keep the rating page unchanged. ~~     Frvwfr2     talk    contribs    admin   16:53, 13 May 2008 (EDT)

I agree, but also for deleted builds. — Balistic 22:03, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
I'm a lot late, but given how deleted ratings work that is impossible. ··· Danny So Cute 19:26, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
given that all deleted/none-existent build ratings are one one page, it's not that huge an issue >.>. But in regards to the original suggestion, yes a rating page lock would be nice, when I get chance I'll give Wikia and e-mail. ~ PheNaxKian talk 19:51, January 14, 2010 (UTC)

2011[]

Special:UserRatings[]

Needs to be modified to allow one to view all the ratings of any user. This will require an update to the base monobook.css so that clicking 'my ratings' directs you to your ratings rather than a blank UserRatings prompt. ToraenTheJanitorToraenSig2 20:21, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

this is a rather big change that you're talking about. Changing the link in monobook is an easy change. But making it so you can see other people's ratings would require a big change to the special page itself. ~ PheNaxKian talk 17:47, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
I am aware of this, but I think it's something worth looking into. The copy of the special page code I have even has a comment in it saying that this functionality was planned. ToraenTheJanitorToraenSig2 19:28, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Rask can't Rate[]

Why can't I rate builds? They 08:31, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

I don't know. I was able to rate a test build without any trouble, the ratebuild right is currently offered to autoconfirmed users, and your account is in that group. Can you provide any more information before I send this up? OOeyes (talk) 23:19, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

2014[]

action=rate[]

"action=rate" seems to have been removed, and since built rating is the core feature of this wiki, this largely defeats the purpose of the wiki entirely. (Build:Team - Frostmaw Ashway). - Chieftain Alex 00:38, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

We will need to rewrite the files that handle "action=rate" because they do not work with 1.21.x. I've added it to the queue for one of my devs. Thanks! Telshin (talk) 15:49, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
The rewrite has been completed. The rate action should now be working again. Apologies for the inconvenience. OOeyes (talk) 21:25, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
Ah thank you for that! There are however a few files which are missing that are now being invoked as background images in the inline css. (I think the file paths were working fine before it got broken+was rewritten). Could you take a look for these? (they provide coloured bar charts basically on pages such as this)
horizontal files:
http://gwpvx.gamepedia.com/PvX/Rate/r1.jpg
http://gwpvx.gamepedia.com/PvX/Rate/r2.jpg
http://gwpvx.gamepedia.com/PvX/Rate/r3.jpg
http://gwpvx.gamepedia.com/PvX/Rate/r4.jpg
and the vertical bar files:
http://gwpvx.gamepedia.com/PvX/Rate/v2.jpg
http://gwpvx.gamepedia.com/PvX/Rate/v3.jpg
I guess these should be somewhere under http://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/gwpvx.gamepedia.com/... but I do not know where exactly. - Chieftain Alex 14:11, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
I've extracted the files from wikia (lol), and put them in Category:Interface images. - Chieftain Alex 19:25, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
Seems an incorrect hardcoded path was missed in the extension's PHP. A fix is ready to go out in the next deploy, which should be in a week or two. It isn't being rushed because the temporary CSS added to MediaWiki:Common.css is working for now. OOeyes (talk) 19:48, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

lol recentratings[]

It looks like the most recent account migration/merge has confused this poor extension, as it thinks every vote and rollback happened on July 22nd now. This is probably not a serious issue but I am interested in why it displays that way when going to any vote page shows the correct timestamps for each rating. -Toraen (talk) 10:17, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

Wtf. Why only removed/rollback ratings... -Chieftain Alex (talk) 20:08, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
I can log in again, how refreshing. Just took me half an hour because the changes screwed up some of my data and I had to make it past ~20 captchas. Urgh.
It doesn't look like it's only the rollbacks. It would seem like it reset the date of all rating related actions of users whos accounts were affected by the fandom/gamepedia userbase merge. You'll see that not all rating dates have been changed, only those of a few users like Toraen. And that made their ratings appear in the recent ratings. --Krschkr (talk) 22:59, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
Whilst annoying and probably to do with the stored userid, I don't think this will reoccur any time soon so I'm marking this as resolved. --Chieftain Alex (talk) 23:35, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

Special:PvXDecode[]

Been suggested on PvXwiki talk:Admin noticeboard#PvXDecode for mini skill bars? that the decode page should also provide mini skill bar code. Could just add some regex replace rules into here. -Chieftain Alex (talk) 19:12, 26 July 2020 (UTC)

Did it with JS on MediaWiki:Hydra.js. Could be added to the extension directly if we remember later. Not an "issue" as such, only a suggestion. --Chieftain Alex (talk) 23:35, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

Fatal exception when trying to vote[]

[214095b065b92f44] 2020-09-27 12:05:56: Fatal exception of type "Wikimedia\Rdbms\DBQueryError"

The page I was attempting to rate was Build:N/Mo 55hp Boss Farmer. I successfully navigated to the rating page, and I've confirmed my email this morning. I forget what the user requirements are in order to be able to vote, but the page appeared to present the correct form, but sent an error after trying to submit the rating. -Chieftainalex (talk) 12:08, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

Same on Build:D/Mo RA Empathic Removal: [6e07f0b8f9541ecc] 2020-09-27 13:46:20: Fatal exception of type "Wikimedia\Rdbms\DBQueryError" Toraen (talk) 13:50, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

I just wanted to update you on the status of the ticket for you wiki. There is a partial fix in place although more work needs to be done and a more complete fix is coming for the errors being thrown by PvXRate.
--Chieftain Alex (talk) 09:05, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
Also for the record, I sometimes get the same error when moving a page that has ratings attached to it, e.g. with Archive:Team - 7 Hero BiP Melee Support [45e96285b4ac2b12] 2020-10-24 09:01:24: Fatal exception of type "Wikimedia\Rdbms\DBQueryError" on Special:MovePage after it completed otherwise successfully. --Chieftain Alex (talk) 09:07, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
I am getting the same error as well. Just tried voting on User:Feydslynox/Rt-any Duncan The Black Solo Hero and got the error. MozoGW (talk) 16:35, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Yup it affects everyone for applying new votes. Hence why we've had no new votes since September 20th (18th October was me modifying an existing vote). --Chieftain Alex (talk) 17:09, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Curse have pushed some updates today, and they thought it might be fixed, but unfortunately my test threw the same error as before. --Chieftain Alex (talk) 18:44, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
Received notification today that the bug is fixed... which I've confirmed by successfully rating something. --Chieftain Alex (talk) 17:04, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
